
Jamin Morden serves as the Music Director of WMGSO. He is one of the ensemble’s standout arrangers and crafted a symphonic UNDERTALE suite that debuted in April 2017. Jamin attended Northwestern University for his undergraduate degree, dual majoring in French Horn Performance and Music Education. He completed a master’s degree in French Horn Performance at Yale University before moving to Maryland to teach instrumental music in Montgomery County Public Schools. Jamin is also involved with Symphony of the Potomac and the Maryland Band Directors’ Band.
Our Music Director

Anthony Khong is an active musician, educator, and arts administrator and is a native of the D.C.-Metro area. Throughout his career, he has been affiliated with local major ensembles such as The Washington Chorus, the Choral Arts Society of Washington, the Children's Chorus of Washington, Voce Chamber Singers, and most recently as Assistant Music Director of the 18th Street Singers. Prior to his work in community choirs, he served as a middle and high school chorus teacher in Fairfax County. Anthony holds a master’s in Arts Management from George Mason University, and a bachelor’s in Music Education from James Madison University, where he studied voice and clarinet.
Our Choir Director

Amanda Cavanagh is the Ensemble Manager and can be found singing with the choir in the Soprano section. She studied voice at Hood College and has lent her coloratura range to various music groups on top of voice acting. When she joined WMGSO in 2016 she was an Event Manager for the Development Team and then became the Ensemble Manager in 2020. When she isn't answering emails or planning music opportunities, she volunteers with MAGfest year round.
